2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time (January 19, 2020)
Is 49.3, 5-6; 1 Cor 1.1-3; Jn 1.29-34
In admitting to being “called by the will of God”, St. Paul notes that his evangelical mission was established on God’s initiative, not his own.
Similarly, each of us are brought forth by God, formed and called “from the womb” like the Prophet Isaiah, destined to be “glorious in the sight of the Lord”.
In saying that Jesus “was before me”, John the Baptist acknowledged Jesus’ divinity, for he was generated by His Father outside of time.
We too must remember that the unborn have also eternally been in the mind of God. No one, then, has the right to snuff out innocent life, whether in the womb or the cradle or the walker.
Pro-Life Intercession
