Meet the Executive
Fr. Thomas Lynch
Fr. Tom Lynch is the President of Priests For Life Canada. Fr. Tom has been directly involved in advocating for the rights of the weak and defenseless for the past 40 plus years.
Fr. Tom was born in Lindsay, Ontario, on July 29, 1957, and ordained to the Catholic priesthood in the Diocese of Peterborough, Ontario, on May 25, 1984. His extensive knowledge and experience has made him a popular advocate, lecturer, and teacher in the area of family and life. His work includes: Ethics Consultant with the Archdiocese of Toronto, Ontario Catholic Conference of Bishops, and the Canadian Catholic Conference of Bishops (1994-2006); Lecturer in Moral Theology; St. Augustine’s Seminary in Toronto ON, where he teaches Bioethics, Sexuality, and Marriage, and Papal Teaching on Social Justice (1995-present); and Lecturer at St. Paul’s University, Ottawa ON where he taught on Sexual Issues and Catholic Morality, Bioethics, and Introduction to Moral Theology.
In addition to his role as National President of Priests For Life Canada, Fr. Tom serves as rector of St. Peter-in-Chains Cathedral Church in Peterborough, Ontario. Fr. Tom continues to use his extensive knowledge and resources within the Catholic community to advance the purpose and aims not only of Priests For Life Canada but of the entire Canadian Pro-life movement.
Fr. John Lemire
Fr. John Lemire is the Chair of the Board of Priests For Life Canada since May 2008. Fr. John has been involved in the pro-life movement, in a variety of capacities, since his high school days in 1985.
Fr. John was born in Timmins, Ontario on June 20, 1969 and was ordained to the Catholic priesthood for the Diocese of Timmins (Ontario) on May 4, 1996. Since 1997 he has served as diocesan vocation director and diocesan liturgy director for the English Pastoral Region of his diocese. For close to twenty years he served as a member of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario Commission for Priests and coordinated a number of provincial symposia for the ongoing formation of priests. He helped found the Diocesan Vocation Directors of Canada (DVDC) and has served as its founding president since 2006.
In addition his role as Chair of the Board of Priests For Life Canada, Fr. John serves as Pastor of Sacred Heart Church and St. Anthony of Padua Cathedral Parish in Timmins, Ontario.
Fr. Matthew Kucharski
Fr. Matthew Kucharski is the Secretary/Treasurer of Priests For Life Canada and has served in this capacity since August 2013.
Fr. Matt was born in Windsor, Ontario on February 19, 1967 and was ordained to the Catholic priesthood for the Diocese of London (Ontario) on April 27, 1996. He has served his diocese as Vocations Director and as the Diocesan Spiritual Advisor for the Catholic Women's League of Canada. He is also involved with his diocesan Ministry to Priests Team and serves as the chaplain for St. Thomas Villanova High School. He continues to assist in coordinating various symposia for the ongoing formation of priests in Ontario.
In addition to his role on the Board of Priests For Life Canada, Fr. Matt serves as Pastor of the Amherstburg-Harrow Catholic Family of Parishes in the Diocese of London.
