Is 55.10-11; Rom 8.18-23; Mt 13.1-23
Take heart! The words of the prophet Isaiah assure us that the Gospel of Life that we preach will not be fruitless. How can we be certain? Because we hear in today’s readings that God’s message will “succeed in the thing for which [He] sent it”. St. Paul also assures us that the message that we proclaim is certainly one that all of creation has been waiting for, a message of redemption that is much needed.
Let us be fearless in proclaiming the Gospel of Life, spreading the seeds of truth liberally, knowing, as Jesus reveals in the parable of the seed and the Sower, that some of those these seeds are destined to fall on good soil and to bear much fruit.
After endeavouring to prepare our own hearts to allow the seeds of the Gospel of Life to germinate within us, we Christians must do what we can to prepare the hearts of others, and this is often best accomplished through our prayer and fasting on their behalf.
