Easter Sunday (April 17, 2022)
Acts 10.34a, 37-43; Col 3.1-4; Jn 20.1-18
Christ is Risen! He has truly risen! In this most important celebration in the Church, which commemorates the final victory of Christ over sin and the devil, Easter signifies our liberation from sin and all that oppresses man. Above all, it means that Christ is alive.
As Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI said, “being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction. Since God has first loved us, love is now no longer a mere ‘command’ - it is a response to the gift of love with which God draws near to us”.
As pro-life Christians, we must “seek what is above” for our life too “is hidden with Christ in God”. Therefore, let us once again resolve to be personally committed to Christ so that His victory may be renewed through us here on earth.
