5th Sunday of Easter (May 7, 2023)

Acts 6.1-7; 1 Pet 2.4-9; Jn 14.1-12

  • As in the early Church, so even today we need to recognize and meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the most vulnerable in our society. Some women feel pressured to abort their child, whom they may be unable to support. Let us pray for these women, but also ensure that they have the necessary financial support to provide for their child.

  • The widows in the early Church were also supported by the Christian community. In our culture we need to show a great degree of moral support to the elderly. We must never let them feel as though they are a burden. They must be highly valued and respected.
