28th Sunday in Ordinary Time (October 15, 2023)

Is 25.6-10a; Phil 4.12-14, 19-20; Mt 22.1-14

  • The majority of women who are abortion vulnerable are those who are struggling to make ends meet. They feel that they can barely take care of themselves, let alone a newborn child.

  • While in saying, “My God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus”, St. Paul primarily intends to convey God’s providence in relation to the Philippians’ spiritual needs, given the context of Paul’s thanksgiving for the Philippians’ monetary gift, it also connotes God’s care in practical matters too.

  • That is, the God who supported Paul in his sufferings in prison will surely supply whatever we need too. The message is clear: with faith in Christ, we can do all things.

  • As a pro-life people, we must put our money where our mouth is and work with God by financially supporting women who are considering abortion due to economic distress.
